On this episode of the KidLit Love podcast, I’m ta On this episode of the KidLit Love podcast, I’m talking with Meredith Walker about her new book for teens: BE YOURSELF AND OTHER BAD ADVICE.

In this book, readers learn not just how to be themselves, but how to find their authentic selves. Through personal anecdotes, journaling prompts, and big-sisterly advice, Meredith gives readers the tools to find themselves. This might be written for teens, but I’d argue it’s a book we all need.

Come listen as we talk about the Smart Girls foundation Meredith founded with Amy Poehler, the varied chapter titles that invite readers to think for themselves and her hopes that all readers will not only find themselves more interesting, but will enjoy the process of who they are becoming, too.

Books make Mondays better! This week, I'm reading Books make Mondays better!

This week, I'm reading the book selection for my Restorative Reading & Writing Circle on Substack. Here it is:

THE ROAD TO TENDER HEARTS by Annie Hartnett

In May, we’re exploring the one-word theme of HOPE: how we might define the word in our own lives as well as find more of it. This book seems like a perfect fit and a lovely way to kick off Spring reading season!

The publisher calls it a "darkly comic and warm-hearted novel about an old man on a cross-country mission to reunite with his high school crush—bringing together his adult daughter, two orphaned kids, and a cat who can predict death".

What books are making your Monday better?
